Internships

During the Fall of 2013, the Student Free Press Association plans to offer paid internships at a Washington, D.C.-based media organization.

Who is eligible?

The internships are open to all SFPA members. (Not a member? Join here. It’s free!) Current college students and recent graduates are eligible.

Where will I work?

SFPA will match each intern with an appropriate host organization. Our previous fellows have worked at The Daily Caller, The Hill, Reason Magazine, The Washington Examiner, and the Weekly Standard. (To learn more about their experiences, go here.)

How long will it last?

The internship will run for about 14 weeks, beginning sometime in September. The specific start and end dates will be determined with input from the intern and media organization.

What will it pay?

SFPA will provide a stipend of $5,600.

Are there other benefits?

In addition to supplying the internship, SFPA will offer customized career advice and networking opportunities. This will include the assignment of a mentor, drawn from our pool of professional affiliates.

When is the deadline?

Applications must be received by June 30. (The winners will be notified by July 15.)

How do I apply?

Email a brief resume, cover letter, and links to three writing samples to internships[at]thecollegefix.com, subject line: Fall Internship.
